If your dog has been registered for the first time after 30 June 2006, then it legally needs to be microchipped (with the exception of working dogs). The Council is offering a free microchipping service at the following Selwyn District Council service centres. If distance or dog numbers prevent you getting to a clinic, you may ask us to come and do the microchipping at your place by phoning Animal Control on 347-2800 or Darfield 318-8338.
